Liquidate

Liquidations

Below 1.00, anyone can unwind an account in one transaction, repay the pool from its USDC, and keep 5% of what was repaid.

When

An account can be liquidated when it has debt and its counted collateral is below that debt: health under 1.00. The check runs when the liquidation's begin executes, against the chain as it is in that slot.

How

A liquidation is a move in mode 2, signed by the liquidator:

  1. Unwind

Steps may only redeem Save receipts and remove Orca liquidity. Both return USDC to the account; removing the LP also returns its SOL side, which stays the owner's.

  2. Repay

end takes the account's USDC and repays the pool as much as it can while leaving room for the premium: at most USDC × 10,000 ÷ 10,500.

  3. Pay the liquidator

The liquidator receives 5% of what was repaid, rounded down, into its own USDC account. Repayment and premium together never exceed the account's USDC.

If the debt is repaid in full, whatever is left in the account, USDC and SOL, stays the owner's.

Partial liquidations

A liquidation doesn't have to clear the debt. It must repay something, and the account's collateral-to-debt ratio afterwards must be no worse than before, compared by exact cross-multiplication. This lets a liquidator unwind what Save can pay out today and come back for the rest.

Write-offs

If every receipt is gone and the USDC still doesn't cover the debt, the liquidator can set write_off on end. After the premium, every remaining unit of USDC goes to the pool, the account's SOL goes back to its owner, and the unpaid debt is removed and recognized as a loss to lenders. A write-off is refused while any Save receipt or LP token remains in the account.

Save's cash

Redemptions are limited by what Save's reserve can pay out and by its rolling withdrawal limits. When those are short, a liquidator redeems what fits, repays with it, and continues in another transaction.

In the app

Liquidate lists every credit account the indexer knows, valued from current chain balances, on a health axis. Pick one below 1.00 and the console shows the plan: what it repays, your 5%, and any loss. Accounts above 1.00 show how far they can fall before they qualify.
